Dr. Taylor Truitt knew since she was four years old that she wanted to be a veterinarian when she grew up. She started working in veterinary practices when she was 18. Her lifelong passion and adoration of dogs and cats transitioned into her professional commitment to their physical and mental well-being when she graduated from veterinary school. She went on to complete a rigorous internship in Los Angeles, CA, focusing on cardiology, internal medicine and emergency medicine.
Dr. Taylor Truitt then went into private practice and started her study of traditional Chinese veterinary medicine and acupuncture at the Chi Institute in Florida. She believes that a foundation of preventative medicine, combined with solid mental stimulation and good nutrition, leads to a long and fun life for our furry friends. Dr. Truitt has a strong interest in internal medicine, dermatology and allergy management, care of our senior and geriatric friends, dental care and pain management.
Dr. Taylor Truitt graduated from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006, and became a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist from the Chi Institute in 2008. In 2014, she earned her MBA from the University of California, Berkeley Haas School of Business. In her spare time, she’s an avid skier and scuba diver, and waxes poetically over California wines. Dr. Taylor Truitt is owned by a French Bulldog named Noah, and she loves taking care of all the brachycephalic or “smoosh-faced” breeds. She also has two very demanding cats, Linus and Pia.
Dr. Taylor is the recipient of the 2016 Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine Outstanding Young Alumnus of the Year! This award is granted to an alumni who demonstrates leadership and outstanding commitment to the veterinary community, humanitarian outreach and civil involvement. She’ll be visiting the other Manhattan this spring to accept the award!
Dr. Eva Radke grew up in Marin County, California, just outside of San Francisco. She always had a natural love for animals and nature, and continued to develop her passion through her study of science. Dr. Eva received her Bachelor of Science in Zoology from the University of Washington in Seattle. During this time, she focused on marine biology and took courses in the San Juan Islands and Denmark. After graduation, Dr. Eva moved back to San Francisco, where she worked for a small pharmaceutical company developing new drugs for asthma and COPD. In the evenings, she also volunteered at the Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito, helping to care for sick and injured seals and sea lions. While this work was challenging and rewarding, she knew that she wanted to be more directly involved in medicine and helping people to care for their beloved pets.
Dr. Eva’s approach to medicine tends to be conservative, but she strongly believes in preventative care with regular exams, vaccinations, parasite preventatives and good nutrition. She has special interests in dermatology and infectious disease, as well as in senior pet care. Dr. Eva’s ultimate goal is to provide high-quality, personalized care for your dog or cat in order to maintain their individual health and your human-animal bond. She truly believes that this bond is an essential part of our lives and our own emotional well-being.
Dr. Eva earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of California at Davis in 2008. She worked in general practice in the San Francisco Bay Area for seven years prior to co-founding The Vet Set. She now lives in Brooklyn with her grey tabby cat, Riley, and black lab/pointer mix, Ranger. In her free time, Dr. Eva enjoys yoga, skiing, cooking and traveling.
Michelle Pecoraro has always loved animals, but it wasn’t until her second year of college that she decided to dedicate her life to working with them. Michelle then transferred to Mercy College, where she tutored Physiology, Pharmacology and Toxicology while working on her degree to become a Licensed Veterinary Technologist.
In 2008, Michelle Pecoraro graduated summa cum laude and earned a B.S. in Veterinary Technology. Michelle has worked at the ASPCA and the Animal Medical Center, where she specialized in anesthesia and surgical nursing. In her spare time, she is involved in New York City’s animal welfare community. She loves reading, coffee, putting together puzzles, baking vegan pies, Star Wars and generally all things geeky. Michelle lives in Astoria with her husband and rescue pit bull, Clementine.
Dr. Eva is the best vet I have ever known! I have known her and her practice for years. This is a great fit for her skills and anyone that gets lucky enough to have Dr. Eva show up on call will be very happy with her knowledge and experience. I couldn't recommend Eva and their services more!
Both Dr. Eva & Dr. Taylor are simply the best and most caring vets. They both have abundant love for their jobs and patients!
Dr. Taylor was able to diagnose my kitty girl with just a few descriptions of her symptoms. I was AMAZED at her seemingly magical vet powers and can't recommend her highly enough. Talia is all better now thanks to The Vet Set expertise!
Dr. Taylor is an animal lover's dream vet! I've always found her to be sensitive, sensible, extremely knowledgeable and understanding, whether for a routine visit, a recurrent issue or something as difficult as saying goodbye to a beloved pet.
